DNS server capabilities

Hello. I really like SPanel. However, I think adding some sort of DNS server capabilities for admin would be a good idea, if we are to use the panel for our own hosting and that of clients. I'm new and still working on my servers, and I'm sure we can manually make things work with a secondary BIND server, which I'll be working on soon; but the capability to add this to SPanel, which would be the master, even if the secondary server would have to be set up manually would be an awesome touch.

A plugin like Plesk Slave DNS would be even better.

And a DNS only server like cPanel would be amazing.

Just throwing it out there. I'd be happy with built in integration in the admin area, and a tutorial on exactly how to set up a secondary server to match.

As I understand, you would like to have a DNS clustering functionality where a DNS change made on one server will automatically be applied to more servers in the cluster so that in a situation a server goes down, your domain will continue resolving, right?

This is the only thing that I don't like about SPanel and hope can be implemented. Just some type of automatic DNS sync to a second server used as a secondary nameserver. Like William said, it can be done manually, but is inconvenient for people who don't have good experience with BIND and a manually configured master/slave setup.

This is now fully supported in the SPanel API and pending integration in the UI. Basically, with that functionality you may add external servers as additional master DNS servers so all DNS changes get automatically synced to all DNS servers. Please contact us if you want to use this functionality.
