Email alias for email client
Is it possible to create an option to configure/use a forwarder email as the replying alias in an email client? For example, our nonprofit uses [email protected] as the mailbox, but to look more professional we create the forwarder with the users first initial and last name ([email protected]). We do this because sometimes, our volunteers come and go a little quicker than we would expect or hope, but would like the next volunteer to pickup where they left off if necessary. When configuring the email account in an email client you cannot configure it with the jdoe@domain account because it will not connect. Is there a way to allow our selected users to reply using the jdoe account as they are able to receive with it, mean while having the emails go to the box intended for the specific position? Thank you all in advance for the help.

This is now planned. You will be able to create email aliases and connect them to existing email boxes so that emails sent to alias1,2,[email protected] will be delivered to [email protected] and you will be able to send emails from both the aliases and the original mailbox.
This is helpful, thank you.
We would like to use an email alias feature even on the domain side, such that [email protected] and [email protected] would be functionally equivalent. They would share one inbox, and either could be used to reply. Bonus points if we could wildcard it to *@domain1.com ==*@domain2.com.
We started working on this feature suggestion. Thanks everyone who voted for it!
Email aliases are now available in SPanel and you may manage them from your SPanel User Interaface -> Emails -> Actions -> Manage Email Aliases.
Email aliases act as alternate addresses that deliver incoming messages to the primary mailbox.
