Enhanced Backup Options

While the current backup options are ok, demanding environments like busy eCommerce sites on VPS require more fine-grained control. Ideally, backups should allow for independent scheduling of database and website files.

For instance, a client with a website containing tens of gigabytes of files might only need weekly backups, while the database requires backups every 3 hours to prevent order loss.

Proposed Enhancements:

• Granular Backup Scheduling: Offer the ability to select an account, view associated databases and website files, and initiate backups independentely at these frequencies:

  • Daily: 1, 3, 7, 14, 30 days
  
  
  • Monthly: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 months
  
  
  
  

This empowers users to tailor backup strategies to individual website needs(and charge the client accordingly), recognizing that backup frequency should be based on factors like data size and criticality.

• Remote Service Integration: Provide a list of supported remote backup services in the admin console (e.g., cloud storage providers) with articles and setup guides for seamless integration with Spanel.

These enhancements would significantly improve backup flexibility and data protection, especially for resource-intensive websites hosted on VPS.
