Same problem here. If I upload Big zip files to move sites from other hosts, you cannot unzip them. They eventually give a error. So I need to upload everything with ftp.

We are aware of the issues with the FTP file manager when archiving/unarchiving bigger chunks of data. The file manager is an external application that we did not develop in-house and we're searching for an adequate replacement. If you find anything that's better, please comment here. For now, we don't want to get into developing our own file manager.

For such a job I login with ssh and use tar.

Could you describe all the features you want to see in the Perfect SPanel File Manager? What else would you want to be able to do with it except the traditional stuff such as remove/edit/create/move files, change permissions, archive/unarchive zip/tar archives?

would be nice to see folder capacity size  (including sub folders and files ).

over the time some hosting accounts piled up with lots of files, backups, zip, etc. but difficult to locate heavy files without opening every folder. if we can see the folder capacity; it's easier to locate and remove the unwanted junks.

Sureen, you can see the disk usage of each file & folder in SPanel -> Disk usage

File manager, similar to the cPanel will work too...

This is now planned and development will start in the next couple of weeks.

We started working on this sooner. The new file manager will be developed by us fitting the needs of the SPanel users. It will have the option to copy files between SPanel accounts, search for files/directories or for content within the files, setting permissions recursively for multiple files and directories. Since the file manager will be fully developed by us we will be able to build additional features in the future as per your needs.

For my first time I attempted to edit a custom plugin file in SPanel and did not have the ability to use my mouse (left click) for copy/paste. But, I was able to use Ctrl C and Ctrl V as a work around.  I wonder Is this a problem of mine or is it inherent to SPanel and if so might I suggest it be overcome also.

The new file manager in SPanel is ready and we are doing the final testing and QA. We plan to release it in the next 2 weeks.

Yahoooooo!

This feature is now available in the latest SPanel version. Existing servers will get the update in the next 10 days.

Is the uncompress option still in development? I was trying to uncompress tar files and could not do it. I had to use SSH in the end.

You can unarchive tar.gz and zip archives via the file manager. If you see issues, please open a ticket with support.
