Panel option to force or remove www

Dreamhost's panel has an option to force the www in the url, or remove it.  (e.g., For "force", visitor types in example.com, server redirects to  For "remove", visitor types in  www.example.com, server redirects to example.com.)  It would be nice to have that in SPanel.

I know it can be done in .htaccess, but it would be cleaner, easier, and less error-prone to set it in the panel.
