Proxy / Service Sub-Domains
As a hosting/email consultant and provider, I would like to see the auto-setup of Proxy Service sub-domains for "spanel" and "webmail" upon the creation of each account. Much like cPanel, these Service?Proxy domains would be part of the DNS and server config, and directly resolve to the appropriate services.
E.g. https://webmail.mydomain.com would go to the webhosting interface, and https://spanel.mydomain.com would go to the spanel.
While Scala currently uses "folder" links for this purpose, they are moot when the root domain resolves elsewhere. Clients are then required to use long, cumbersome and non-memorable server hostname links such as https://server22.myserverhostname.com/webmail or https://server22.myserverhostname.com/spanel.
"Vanity" sub-domains help maintain branding consistency for a client, an create a more memorable URL..s as well as the projected security of arriving at their oen domain..
cPanel accomplishes this with A records for the sub-domain and then server config... which then resolves at that same URL. I currently create webmail and spanel subdomains, assign SSL, and then re-direct to the server hostname/folder... which resolves at the server hostname URL. Not as nice, but still serves the purpose.
