As a non-techie blog owner, I would like to have a simple to use staging/testing environment for wordpress to test out various plugins and work on new layouts. Something similar like hosts.cx that provides me with a temp url to use for access the staging/testing site will be nice.

Staging is supported in SPanel -> Softaculous. Is that what you needed?

@Vlad Softaculous is payable  $$$

Softaculous is free with SPanel.

hi Vlad

doesn't softaculous takes so much server space and then invites more problem with code and security management?  why would one want to load extra scripts and software just for stating

cloudways and siteground offer stating, autohealting etc. i am sure scala can do better in this

When upgrading its important to have staging so rather than upgrading on live especially DRUPAL core upgrades it best to move live site to stage, upgrade and then deploy back from stage to live

Hi. It doesn't take much space because it is configured to download only the scripts that you try to install and it supports staging. We decided it was easier to partner with them and include it for free in SPanel. That does not mean we will stop improving the SWordPress and Joomla managers though.

Softaculous is slow, for me it's better to have integrated staging in Spanel with SWordpress

I think we need a solution similar to Bluehost and Siteground (https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/)
Also, looking at Softaculous, we couldn't even find a staging site creation application.

Hi Nadja. Staging is currently available in SPanel via Softaculous. Once you install WordPress you will see a Create Staging icon. Please see https://www.softaculous.com/docs/enduser/create-staging/ for more information.

We are working on a huge improvement of the SWordPress Manager which will also include staging and several other exciting features such as managing users/comments/themes/plugins, malware scanning, login to WordPress with a single click, wp-cli integration where you may run wp-cli commands right from the SWordPress Manager GUI, reinstall selected plugins/themes or the whole WordPress with all already installed themes and plugins which would save lots of time in case of a compromise as it will remove any malicious code uploaded by a hacker and replace everything with clean code, search and replace functionality for the database and many more!

The best is yet to come!
